OVERALL PURPOSE

Process payroll, payroll tax filings and auxiliary payroll operations for Sunshine Retirement Living and its related business entities, accurately and punctually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

· High school graduate or equivalent, required; some college, preferred. AA Degree preferred but not required

· Two years’ office experience, required; 2 years payroll experience required. ADP/Real Page experience a plus

· Working knowledge of federal and state regulations and understanding of proper taxation of employer benefits

· Ability to operate 10-key by touch and proficiency in data entry skills

· Ability to deal sensitively with all confidential business and operations information

· Ability to analyze payroll information and process accurately. Ability to learn multi-state payroll procedures

· Proficiency in data entry skills; familiar with word processing and spreadsheet programs

· Proficiency in organizational skills; detail-oriented. Able to handle a large volume of material, work under time constraints, and meet department deadlines

· Ability to coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. labor “home” work, overtime, leave balances, head count, and retirement contribution reports

· Ability to work in a team setting and be a team player

· Maintain a positive, respectful approach with coworkers

· Must be committed to interacting with Community Management on a regular basis

· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Accurately enter payroll data from assigned Sunshine Retirement Living Communities into computer system in accordance with company policy and state regulations

· Process verifications of employment

· Review payroll registers and other reports produced in payroll processing, identifying problems or concerns and adjust as necessary

· Perform payroll audits

· Research and adjust any incorrect Community payroll data received

· Process timely and accurate Community annual reports, such as W2s

· Assist Community Management Team members in understanding and completing payroll; answer Management Team’s questions regarding payroll issues

· Assist Accountants in tracking and balancing payroll transactions

· Respond to payroll inquiries from regulators, governmental agencies, credit institutions, and employees

· Process interim checks for terminated employees promptly as required by state law

· Update and track “paid time off” balances

· Track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions

· Maintain complete and accurate tax files. Research previous year’s tax over- and under-payments

· Organize and distribute voided checks, as assigned

· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour
