Job Description

Position Summary:

The role of Assistant Buyer, Floral provides various office and warehouse location support activities and follows specific processes and procedures to maximize the efficiencies of the Floral office.

Here’s what you’ll do:

· Responsible for collection of Floral orders via incoming fax, email, or phone call.

· Responsible for providing courteous customer service in person or by telephone; answers incoming calls to the retail store and directs incoming calls to the appropriate department.

· Maintain records, receives, prepares, or verifies documents, searching for and compiling information and data.

· Track, monitor, edit orders for customers and Floral office personnel.

· Consults catalogs and other references to obtain prices and specifications.

· Perform daily office tasks such as filing, recording, maintaining records, copying, posting and other similar duties, following organization and department procedures to complete tasks in a timely manner.

· May facilitate resolution of product supply issues with warehouses and/or retail locations.

· May assist with the return of incorrect deliveries/products and provide vendors with necessary information for credit/exchange as required.

· Solicit feedback from the field on customer relationships, industry trends and strategy implementation to recommend new products, quality, and grades of fresh products.

· Support the inventory process in the Distribution Center through random audits, cycle counting, physical counts, verification of outgoing product, system data maintenance, etc. to ensure accurate and timely records of product inventory while ensuring compliance to inventory processes and procedures.

· Adjust inventory records accordingly to maintain accuracy.

· Communicate pertinent information and issues (i.e., inventory/receiving issues, warehouse out-of-stock inventory, product damage, etc.) to supervisor(s) in a timely manner.

· Participate in rotation of products and perform other duties as assigned.

· Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

· High school diploma or GED (required)

· One year of prior distribution, warehouse or related experience preferred.

· Strong verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.

· Good customer service and organizational skills; detail oriented. Good reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong organization, attention to detail, prioritization, and time management skills.

· Must be able to count inventory and research issues. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and ability to learn other system applications (WMS, POPs, etc.).

· Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently within a fast-paced warehouse operation. Must be able to work within a warehouse environment.

· Must follow safe working practices in accordance with Company safety policies and practices.

· Must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift.

Must frequently sit, walk, and stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls. Must frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed. While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned.
