For over 30 years, Sunsets Inc has led the swimwear industry in customer service, innovative design, and fit production. Located in Harbor City, CA currently Sunsets Inc is an umbrella company for four brands: Sunsets Separates, B. Swim, Swim Systems, and Sunsets Escape.

We are seeking to fill a full-time position for an Associate Technical Designer. This role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to learn all aspects of the swimwear development process to production.

The Associate Technical Designer's main responsibility is to support the tech team in its day-to-day operations.

These duties include but are not limited to the following:

· Accurately spec garments and prepare them for fittings.

· Support in fittings by taking detailed and accurate notes and providing clear comments and detailed photos.

· Daily maintenance of tracking reports through email communications, updating fit sample status, and samples that are sent and received.

· Assemble tech packs with construction detailed sketches, how to measure sketches, and sewing instructions.

· Assist With fit comments.

· Works closely with the Technical Design Manager to understand priorities and responsibilities on day-to-day basis.

Qualifications:

· 3 years of technical design experience.

· A degree in a related background (Technical Design, Patternmaking/Grading, Sewing/Construction.

· Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Illustrator is a must.

· Knowledge of Gerber is a plus.

· Basic understanding of fit, balance, garment construction, and patternmaking.

· Ability to accurately spec garments.

· Good written and oral communication skills.

· Must be very organized and focused with attention to detail.

· Ability to work in fast paced environment and stay organized.

· Positive and dependable attitude.

· Enthusiastic and willing to learn.

· Passion for Swimwear/ Swim and Intimates Experience is a Plus.
