Hospice On-Call Nurse

Every other weekday Monday-Thursday on-call coverage beginning 5pm each evening and ending 8:30am the following morning.

We are currently searching for a Compassionate Hospice On-Call RN for our Boutique Hospice.

This individual is responsible as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team for the provision of skilled nursing assessment, planning and care on an on-call basis in order to maximize the comfort and health of patients and families.

Specific responsibilities include:

· Respond to on-call messages that will include making recommendations via phone and making visits to the home of the patient when needed.

· Death pronouncements for patients dying at home or in a location where there is not a registered nurse to pronounce death.

· Make scheduled hospice visits or complete admissions to patients as directed by Clinical Director.

· On-call every other weekend. Hours will by Friday 5pm through Monday 8:30am for scheduled weekend shift coverage.

Requirements:

· Prior experience hospice or home care preferred; pain management experience preferred.

· Minimum two years of varied work experience a professional nurse.

· Registered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a professional nurse.

· Tact, diplomacy and sensitivity in dealing with clients and staff.
