As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you’ll perform mechanical repairs on dump and mixer trucks, as well as heavy equipment including loaders, back hoes and excavators. Duties will include:

• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment; perform major engine and transmission repairs and replacements as well as electrical diagnosis.
• Perform major electrical repairs (including electronic controls), minor welding repairs, as well as equipment and plant maintenance repairs.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain tools as required to perform job.
• Perform various duties in the shop.

Here's what we require:

• Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, electronics, and familiar with associated components.
• Three years journeyman experience and/or two year diesel mechanic certificate preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
• Good work habits and self-motivated to perform at a high level
• Attention and commitment to safety.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal or no supervision
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment
• Maintain driver's license (CDL preferred) and medical card.
• Clean driving record.
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
