Sunrise Services is Hiring a Direct care staff Near Everett, WA

Sunrise Services, Inc. is seeking a compassionate individual to work in our Adult Family Home! Apply and learn how you can make a difference in the lives of others!

Duties and Responsibilities : The Adult Family Home Direct Care Staff (AFH DCS), under the supervision and direction of the RM, provides whatever support and assistance is needed by AFH residents in their daily lives and documents services given.

Such support and assistance is provided in a way that helps empower the resident. Encourage practices and activities that contribute to the health of the client.

  • Cue, encourage and coach participants to be aware of and practice basic nutrition.
  • Cue, coach and assist as needed with menu planning, grocery shopping and meal preparation that reflects healthy choices, while respecting the resident’s rights.
  • Coach participants as needed to recognize the need for and appropriate use of health services.
  • Report injuries, illnesses, medical and / or mental health symptoms
  • Provide support as needed / directed during illness / recovery
  • Provide first aid as needed.
  • Encourage medication compliance; provide medication assistance as needed.
  • Carry out Nurse Delegation tasks as authorized and directed.
  • Encourage residents to seek mental health services when needed.
  • Provide training as needed regarding personal safety and emergencies, to include fire evacuation procedures, accessing emergency services and personal safety skills.
  • Coach and / or assist residents with personal care and household maintenance as needed. This may include cueing and / or assisting with bathing, toileting, laundry, housekeeping, etc.

Shopping for items such as clothing, personal possessions and home decor which reflect personal preference and taste as well as being within their budget.

Shop, bank, eat, work, worship and make friends within the community.

  • Use available public transportation.
  • Meet with others and participate in activities with other members of the community.

Budgeting and money management

  • Health maintenance
  • Keeping track of daily and weekly schedules
  • Planning leisure time activities
  • Relationships; communication and conflict resolution

The DCS will regularly update the RM regarding both successes and concerns the resident may be experiencing in all of the above areas.

  • Maintaining participant records :
  • Complete, as directed documentation related to participants’
  • Medication records
  • Medical or mental health symptoms / complaints
  • Daily case notes
  • Incident Reports
  • Financial transactions
  • Personal property
  • Site safety inspections
  • Other forms (e.g. DHSH; SSA, etc.) as required

Transportation In some cases may drive participants via agency owned or personal vehicle to / from medical / therapy appointments, grocery shopping or community activities.

Work Schedule : Monday - Friday 7 am - 3 pm.

Education, Experience :

  • Must have a High school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
  • Home Care Aide (HCA) or Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) preferred. If training is required / provided, it must be completed within 120 days of date of hire through our training center.
  • Various other educational classes will be required at different intervals during employment.
  • Prefer at least one year of experience working with people with disabilities or experience working in a similar industry.

Compensation : · $19 - $20.45 / hour · Wages are determined by applicable industry experience, education, and certifications / licensure. Benefits :

Skills & Abilities :

  • Excellent communication (oral and written), listening, organization, documentation and problem-solving skills required.

  • Ability to organize work, time, and priorities to meet resident needs.
  • Ability to role model, maintain professional boundaries, and establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with others (both within and outside the company).
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate or use basic home appliances such as vacuum, microwave, dishwasher, etc. and household tools such as mop and broom.
  • Ability to use a calculator to perform simple math functions required.
  • Ability to lift approximately 20-30 pounds and physically assist unsteady clients
