We are an innovative and dynamic 36- bed residential treatment facility in Indiana. We offer detox and residential treatment for substance abuse as the primary diagnosis. We are a dual-diagnosis facility. We are currently looking for a dynamic RN to join the leadership team as our director of nursing. The nursing director is responsible for planning and directing the functions of the nursing department in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Experience in behavioral health, and/or psych preferred.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of the DON:
Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, infection control for the facility etc. as necessary
Ensure that direct nursing care is provided by a licensed nurse who is qualified, maintain competency assessments on all staff upon hire and annually
Review nursing notes to ensure that they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided, that they reflect the resident’s response to care, and that the care provided is in accordance with the Medical Providers orders
Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled
Provide direct nursing care as necessary
Responsible for coverage of shifts as needed and on-call duties on a rotating basis or as needed. (Currently 12 hour shifts)
Develop and participate in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of timely in-service training classes
Responsible for the scheduling of Nursing staff to ensure 24 hour coverage (Currently 12 hr shifts)
To maintain full compliance of the nursing department not limited to; reports and audits as delegated
Manage the facilities infection control
Maintain compliance for Joint Commission
Other duties as assigned
What Qualifications Do You Need
You would be a great fit for our team if you have the following:
State licensed RN for Indiana.
Experience in Addiction and Behavioral Health a PLUS!
Five (5) years of healthcare experience including prior experience as a successful Nurse Manager (preferred)
Extensive knowledge of state survey process for Residential Services
Knowledge of The Joint Commission survey process and compliance
Experience with MAT is a plus
This position requires mental and physical strength and capabilities
Must be an effective communicator and team builder
