BASIC FUNCTION
To ensure the facility improves/maintains overall census, assist in marketing the facility in creative ways, working collaboratively with the IDT to ensure the profitability of the facility promoting a team approach.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The employee must be able to perform each essential job function effectively to be successful in this position.
Provide tours to potential residents/representatives of
Interview potential residents and residents’ representatives to collect accurate data on admission inquiries.
Communicate admission inquiry data in written and verbal form timely to the nursing department and administration.
Screen residents applying for admission for proper placement in the facility.
Assign appropriate room to residents in consultation with the nursing department and administration.
Greet and escort the resident to the assigned nursing unit.
Identify potential residents whose needs can be met by the facility.
Ensure facility is in compliance with PASRR/LOC requirements.
Assist Case Managers in facilitation admissions to the nursing facility.
Participate in on-going training to serve as a back-up to the Case Manager.
Accept reservations for resident accommodations in an accurate and organized manner.
Perform all duties assigned in an effective and timely manner.
Follow admission, transfer, and discharge policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of residents’ names and room numbers.
Communicate an accurate facility census to all facility departments.
Notify appropriate facility departments when a resident is admitted and/or discharged.
Work cooperatively with all facility department supervisors and administrative staff.
Explain facility philosophy, policies, and procedures to potential and new residents and residents’ representatives.
Ensure all necessary pre-cert and authorization is completed in a timely manner for all managed care admissions.
Explain the facility admission agreement and all attachments to potential and new residents and residents’ representatives.
Obtain required signature on all admission forms.
Establish a good rapport with transferring institutions.
Participate in marketing the facility and maintaining an acceptable census level.
Refer admission problems to designated individuals.
Communicate all current information regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and other payment sources to resident or resident’s representative.
Perform other related duties as directed by the Administrator.
Follow OSHA regulations as they pertain to the Admissions Department.
Attend in-service training programs for admission employees.
Maintain needed logs (i.e. sex offender logs)
