THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a Customer Service/Freight Representative to join our team in Rancho Cordova, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for processing orders, assisting with customer quotes and pricing, and providing overall customer service support. You will work closely with our shipping and receiving teams to ensure accurate and timely management of paperwork processes. Additional responsibilities include report generation, data entry, and freight coordination.

This position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision plans, 401K, and life and disability insurance. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Answering phones, reviewing emails and assisting customers with inquiries.
• Processing customer orders, price quotes, and returns/exchanges.
• Answering product questions, order follow-up support, or addressing other related concerns.
• Communicating with purchasing to verify pricing and lead times.
• Managing shipping information, coordinating freight shipments, preparing Bills of Ladings and customs documents, providing tracking information and confirming deliveries.
• Report and resolve capacity issues or delays by working carriers. Escalate to Lead/Supervisor if issues can’t be resolved timely.
• Managing relationships with trucking companies, freight brokers and small package freight companies. Develop and maintain reliable carriers to achieve timely performance.
• Identify the root cause of issues that may arise, suggest and implement corrective actions to prevent issues from recurring.
• Prepare accurate shipping reports for team on a daily basis.
• Maintain knowledge of freight forwarding, domestic and international shipping.
• Stay informed about shipping carriers, routes, and rate changes.
• Provide administrative support as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Freight experience and TMS User preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and administrative abilities.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team.
