Currently seeking an experienced preschool teacher for a part time position Monday through Friday approximately 3:00pm or 4:00pm-6:30pm. Duties will include assisting with classroom management and general health and safety to help with dismissal and closing the center. Previous licensed center experience highly preferred with existing knowledge of health and safety standards and classroom management .

Responsibilities

• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
• Make sure children are neat and tidy and ready for pickup

Skills

• Prior experience in a licensed preschool highly preferred
• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods preferred
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms according to DCF rules and guidelines
• Ability to act as mediator between children
• Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
