Welding Instructor - Sunray High School

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in Manufacturing/Welding designed to fulfill their maximum potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills that will prepare them for success in higher education and society. The welding shop is about one year old and is a state-of-the art facility with multiple welding machines and other tools available for use.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university preferred but not required
Valid Texas teaching certificate or Related training and work experience
AWS Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge and skills in Welding and Manufacturing programs
Knowledge of industry related software
Ability to align Welding curriculum and instruction to industry certification exams
Knowledge of project-based learning programs
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
Major Responsibilities and Duties

• Oversee Welding Program, including assisting students in selecting and managing projects.

• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.

• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.

• Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements..
• Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district.

• Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.

• Maintain current inventory of all fixed assets related to the program.

• Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

• Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
