Production Supervisor

Position Title: Production Supervisor

Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Operations Manager

Supervisory Responsibility: No direct supervisor duties

Position Summary
As a Production Supervisor, this position will supervise and coordinates all material for manufacturing from the approved shop drawings to the shop through the installation at the jobsites.

Essential Functions

1. Takes field dimensions, prepares material take-offs, verify that all materials required for project are on hand or ordered, prepare Microvellum/Cut-Rite list for each project.

2. Maintains an accurate daily log or time sheet showing time spent to complete a project.

3. Monitor fabrication in/through the shop explaining or answering questions to keep shop personnel working correctly and know required schedules are being kept.

4. Review all fabricated materials for correctness and place green tag stickers on each piece prior to delivery as a quality assurance measure.

5. Oversee and direct install supervisor to ensure timely delivery and installation at the jobsite and verify deliveries for all materials.

6. Correspond and coordinate with Project Manager during the project regarding changes that affect scope of work or schedule.

7. Attend jobsite subcontractor meetings as needed.

8. Required to strictly comply with all Sunnyvale Millwork policies.

9. Accurately complete timesheets with hours charged to the correct job.

10. Complete material requisition forms for the correct job.

11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

12. Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.

Work Environment
The job will be conducted in a Construction/Manufacturing environment with moderate noise from machines and power tools. Conditions will include OSHA approved levels of dust. Personal Protection Equipment is always required in the shop and all job sites. Personal Protection Equipment includes the use of a hard hat, safety glasses, vest, gloves, face shields and respirators always. Other working conditions may require work from various heights, including ladders, aerial lifts, scaffolds, or other safe elevated conditions.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk, listen sit, walk, reach, kneel, stoop, crouch, use hands and fingers to handle or feel and to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, and maintain visual acuity. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and or carry lightweight (under 20 pounds). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Expected Hours of Work
Full time position. Occasional extended hours and weekends may apply.

Travel
Minimal travel required, depending on the project, travel to other areas may be required. The majority of travel is done during work hours, overnight stays may be required.

Required Education and Experience

One (1) or more years of relevant work experience

Preferred Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1. Valid driver’s license.

2. Must be able to read and write in English and understand numbers, fractions, and be able to do basic math functions. Must be able to communicate in English for safety directions and all other communications related to manufacturing and installations.

3. Knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Word.

4. Detailed an accurate ability to keep necessary records.

5. Must be able to operate electric and pneumatic hand tools including but not limited to saws, routers, drills, and other shop related hand tools.

6. Understand all aspects of Sunnyvale Millwork safety procedures including achieving all required Safety Certifications.

  • 8 hour shift
  • Weekends as needed
