Job Title: Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant

Position Overview and General Responsibilities: 

Sunnyside's Therapy department has recently transitioned from a contracted team to in-house. We are currently seeking as-need PTs/PTAs to help round out our team. As a vital team member, you will have the opportunity to support residents in meeting their therapy goals and improving their quality of life. The primary responsibilities of our Physical Therapists are to assess, plan, and administer rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, and increase strength while utilizing innovation and best practices to meet and exceed the needs of the residents.

Requirements

Requirements

• Must hold current PT or PTA Virginia State Licensure
• CPR certification is required
• 2-3 years experience preferred

Physical and Environmental Considerations:Normal lighting levels, temperature ranges, air quality, ventilation and noise levels. Physical stamina to lift, transfer and assist patients through physical activities. Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50lbs. unassisted, including assisting patients when needed. Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the phone. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Contact with blood, body fluids. Minimal hazards if required Universal Precautions are followed.
