Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. Your primary responsibilities will include administrative tasks, patient service, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Duties:

- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner

- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments using our electronic scheduling system

- Verify patient information and insurance coverage

- Collect co-pays and process payments

- Maintain patient records and update medical history as necessary

- Assist with medical billing and coding

- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy

- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed

- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and faxes

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area

- Closing procedures; windows, doors are locked at the end of the day and trash is taken out.

Experience:

- Previous experience working in a medical office or similar administrative role is preferred

- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is highly desirable

- Familiarity with dental office operations is a plus, especially experience with Dentrix software

- Proficient in using phone systems and handling multiple phone lines

Skills:

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

- Exceptional customer service skills to provide a positive patient experience

- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems

We offer competitive pay based on experience. This is a part-time position 4pm to 7pm Monday through Friday.
