Do you like the heat and the idea of working outdoors? Are you into horticulture? If so, this may be just the right job for you! Sundance Orchids & Bromeliads is looking to fill a nursery worker position. This can be a full or part time position. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed, however when necessary it can be awfully hard work, and in the summer, it is very, very hot! IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO SWEAT A LOT, PLEASE DO NOT WASTE OUR TIME OR YOUR TIME APPLYING. After hearing that, if you are still interested, main job duties will include, but are NOT limited to the following:

-Maintaining display gardens and landscaping on property.

-Learning about our plants growing habits and characteristics.

-Assisting customers with questions regarding plant care and landscaping needs.

-Cleaning, picking up, and removing trash debris daily.

-Watering, trimming, and weeding plants.

-Sharing cleaning duties with other employees to maintain our public restroom.

-Potting up plants and learning to track their propagation.

-PVC/Irrigation repair

-Using gas and electric power tools.

-Spraying pesticides and herbicides when necessary.

-Assisting with inventory management.

This is a position we are hoping to fill long term. Pay will be based on any experience and knowledge you may have of bromeliads, orchids and/or landscaping. Mechanical knowledge a plus. You must be able to lift over 50 lbs and willing to climb and work on ladders when necessary. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required. Must be DEPENDABLE, HARD WORKING, AND HAVE OWN TRANSPORTATION. VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE REQUIRED.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
