Sundance Apartments is Hiring a Temp to Hire Apartment Maintenance/Make-Ready Near Austin, TX

We are a busy apartment complex in Southwest Austin looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance/Make-Ready Technician for immediate hire. This position will be responsible for preparing vacant units for occupancy and performing repairs and preventative maintenance in the apartment community as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

The Make Ready Technician will also assist the rest of the maintenance team, as directed, in their efforts to manage the property in a responsible, efficient manner.

Offer of permanent employment upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.

The duties and responsibilities include the following, though other duties may be assigned:

· Completes all needed repairs and improvements to apartment homes prior to resident move-in by following the community’s make-ready checklist.

· Inspects all sheetrock for damage and repairs and/or replaces as needed.

· Perform full or touch-up paints for vacant and occupied units as directed by Management.

· Completes make-ready checklist and all other required maintenance documentation in a timely manner as required by Management.

· Must comply with all local, state, federal guidelines as well as company policies and procedures.

· Able to work with moderate to minimal direct supervision.

· Able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining conscientious and adhering to policies and procedures.

· Good human relation skills demonstrating the ability to deal with residents, peers and supervisors.

· Performs carpentry, electrical, basic plumbing, and installation of appliances and fixtures in property.

· Installs window screens and blinds, light fixtures, light bulbs, globes, ceiling fans and power supply outlets.

· Repairs or replaces faucets, shower head or tub spouts.

· Manages vacant apartments by ensuring all repairs/replacements are completed as necessary in a timely manner for apartments to be occupied.

· Assists in Preventative Maintenance Program (changing filters, smoke alarms, check for plumbing issues).

· Assists with daily care and upkeep of swimming pool and hot tub.

· Assists in the daily upkeep of the grounds and common areas of the property.

· Shares emergency after-hours on-call responsibilities with the maintenance team and responds to resident service requests in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Must be able to work in the US.

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation a must.

· High School diploma or equivalent.

· Detail oriented.

· Able to work in a team environment and take direction.

· Ability to work in outdoor environments exposed to adverse weather conditions.

· General knowledge of all aspects of maintenance, repair and service.

· Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and climb ladders.

· Minimum 1-2 years of maintenance experience with apartment experience preferred.

· Be willing and able to work on-call (rotating schedule).

· HVAC Certification a plus.

· Pool Certification a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
