Program Overview: Our New Graduate RN (StaRN)Residency Program is a 10-13 week initiative designed to equip new graduateswith acute care nursing experience. The program consists of three parts:
Part 1: StaRN Training (First 5 to 7 Weeks):
- Instructor-led classroom training (offsite from the hospital)
- Paid training with state-of-the-art simulation and comprehensive debriefs
- Online learning modules and certifications
- Meditech Training and Validation
- Monday-Friday, 40-hour work week (8-hour days)
Part 2: StaRN Clinical Preceptorship (Next 7 Weeks):
- Conducted at the hospital
- Paid training at the new graduate RN hourly rate
- Assigned preceptor for personalized training and acclimation to the role
- Regular development meetings with preceptor and Director
- Schedule: 3 – 12 Hour shifts on the sponsoring unit
Part 3: HCA Residency Program (Remainder of 1st year):
- Transition to full-time roles at the hospital
- Monthly professional development with a mentor
- Attend monthly residency seminars
- Complete an evidence-based capstone project
- Attend 1-year graduation
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing School within the past 1 year (preferred); Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice or holds an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
- No prior experience as an acute care hospital RN
- Flexibility to work day or night shifts (unit needs vary)
- 100% mandatory attendance throughout the initial StaRN Training Program
