Position: Pediatric - School Nurse (1:1 Assignment)

Location:Gurnee, IL

Responsibilities: In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing direct nursing care and monitoring to a specific student who requires ventilator support and has a gastrostomy tube (G-tube).
• Managing the ventilator equipment and ensuring its proper functioning at all times.
• Administering medications and feedings through the G-tube according to the student's individualized healthcare plan.
• Performing regular assessments of the student's respiratory status, vital signs, and overall health condition.
• Responding promptly to any medical emergencies or changes in the student's condition.
• Communicating effectively with the student's family, healthcare providers, and school staff to coordinate care and address any concerns.
• Maintaining detailed and accurate records of the student's health status, treatments, and interventions.

Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you must possess:

• A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
• Prior experience working with pediatric patients requiring ventilator support and G-tube feedings.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies.
• Knowledge of ventilator equipment and G-tube management protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to students with complex medical needs.

Contract Details: This is a contracted position with a specific assignment to support a student with specialized healthcare needs. The duration of the contract and compensation will be determined based on the individual circumstances of the assignment. Further contract details will be provided upon offer of employment.
