Job Title: School Behavior Technician

Responsibilities:
- Assist Classroom Instruction: Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction by providing one-on-one or small group assistance to students.
- Student Support: Offer academic support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or English language learners, to ensure their comprehension and progress in lessons.
- Behavioral Support: Implement behavior management strategies as directed by teachers to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Classroom Management: Assist with classroom organization, setup, and maintenance to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
- Supervision: Monitor students during various activities, such as lunchtime, recess, and field trips, ensuring their safety and adherence to school rules.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, grading, and preparing instructional materials to support teachers in their daily responsibilities.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other school staff regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
- Personal Care: Provide personal care assistance to students with special needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility support, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Professional Development: Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in education and student support.
- Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration to contribute to the overall functioning of the school community.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in educational settings preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with students, teachers, parents, and other school staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students academic, social, and emotional development.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of and adherence to confidentiality guidelines and student privacy laws.
- Willingness to undergo background and drug testsand clearances as required by state and federal regulations.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school community.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all students.
Working Conditions:

- Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
