TITLE: CONSTRUCTION FIELD FOREMAN
REPORTS TO: CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
SUPERVISES: Construction Technicians
INTERFACES: Construction Technicians, Construction Manager, Service/Construction Project Managers, Software/Design Engineers, Project Engineers

JOB SUMMARY:
The position requires the individual to apply their technical knowledge and experience to ensure the construction field technicians are executing projects in the best, highest quality, and most efficient ways possible. The Field Foreman assists with the kick off of projects including job walks, subcontractor interface, and quality checks at the completion of projects with a goal of zero call backs, warranty calls, and incomplete projects. The Field Foreman works with the Construction Manager and fellow Field Foreman to help create the environment of mentorship, growth and development while allowing the field technician to work independently, meeting the timelines and financial expectations of the construction project.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Attend project turnover meetings with project managers, project engineers, or the
Construction Manager as required
• Schedule and assign manpower for projects, dispatched by Construction Manager
• Review projects with the assigned technician(s) and job walk if required
• Support field personnel with technical issues in person, remote, or by phone
• Ensure high working efficiency of field teams, striving to always improve the process
• Perform quality checks on active projects and help ensure projects are closed
completely and successfully
• Help strengthen the team by demonstrating excellent communication with Construction
Manager, field team, and project managers
• Assist Construction Manager and Operations Manager to develop strategies for
continuous improvement of processes and team skill development
• Help build morale, camaraderie, and positive culture throughout all teams
• Work with the Construction Manager to evaluate current skill sets and identify where
improvement is required
• Assist in development of others to grow support of specialized markets (data center,
biotech, and highly efficient zone work) which may require additional support and
selection of individuals for that market
• Work with project managers or project engineers to insure internal or external
installation meets Sunbelt Controls’ standards
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Three or more years working with HVAC and building automation systems
• Advanced computer literacy and experience are required
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of HVAC
components and sequences of operation
• Experience with building automation control systems (Automated Logic, Niagara
variants, Trane, Johnson Metasys, etc) and an understanding of their operation
• Ability to work well with project managers
• History of completing projects on time and within labor budget
• Track record of successfully interacting with general contractors and other trades
• Good working relationship with office personnel (engineering, project managers,
project engineers)
• Motivation to continue personal and group development with building automation
systems and opportunities with new systems
• Aptitude for identifying problematic or improperly operating systems and developing
solutions
• Must be highly organized and possess the ability to work in a high paced environment
• Has the ability to operate independently and autonomously and yet possesses the
discretionary judgment to know when it’s appropriate to consult with others in the
organization and the Construction Manager
• Ability to execute their work to ensure high satisfaction and the highest quality
deliverable.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills are a requirement of this position.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and
stand, use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, talk and hear
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, along with the ability to climb up and down ladders•
Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently,
and/or up to 10lbs. of force constantly to move objects
• Ability to work with hand and other tools in a safe manner
• Ability to climb up and down ladder frequently
• The employee must possess the ability to navigate the complexities of a construction site while working on site and practicing site safety requirements and policies of the Company
Wages:
This position is for signatory employees and wages will be in alignment with the current Collective Bargaining Agreements.
