Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a psychiatric setting, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients
- Administer medications and monitor their effectiveness and side effects
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with mental health disorders
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans
- Provide counseling and support to patients and their families
- Monitor patients for changes in behavior or symptoms and report any concerns to the healthcare team
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatments, and medications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team
- Ability to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Proficient in administering medications and monitoring their effects
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in patient care
