Job Summary:

Responsible for the management and accuracy of production material inventory in all warehousing and packaging locations, ensuring that materials arrive in good condition and on time to meet production requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Responsible for management of bag warehouse staff, including scheduling to ensure proper staffing for daily orders.

· Responsible for the management & accuracy of inventory, (bags and stickers), in bag warehouse and packaging locations.

  • Responsible for purchasing and inventory of production materials as assigned (currently container liners).

· Receive, inspect and record new stock into inventory. Coordinate with receiving, bag warehouse and purchasing personnel.

  • Read and comprehend production orders, shipping orders or purchase requisitions to determine items to be received, moved to production or shipped.
  • Develop and maintain inventory tracking system to streamline business operations and meet facility needs.
  • Oversee movement of inventory between receiving, bag warehouse and packaging.
  • Work with bag purchaser to forecast potential inventory issues.
  • Communicate with packaging scheduler, warehouse personnel and purchaser about current bag outages and potential issues with orders.
  • Responsible for weekly cycle counting to meet accounting standards.
  • Investigates and reports on inventory issues and variances.
  • Record packaging bag waste and analyze results.
  • Arrange for delivery and pick up bags at other companies as needed.
  • Monitor slow moving inventory and perform steps to address the issue.
  • Provide inventory information when requested.
  • Create schedule for bag stickering and staging to assure bags arrive at packaging on time.
  • Manage, track and provide customer required labels/stickers. Maintain sticker/stencil binder.
  • Maintain shared file with all customer sticker requirements for the bag warehouse team.
  • Responsible for receiving and inventory of customer consignment items.
  • Oversee daily operations and identify solutions for continuous improvements.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology and best practices.
  • Define inventory KPI’s and track regularly.
  • Make recommendations to ensure ideal levels of inventories.
  • Ensure material warehouses are organized and clean.
  • Ensure designated Bag Warehouse areas are accessible and safe of trip hazards and clutter for employees and visitors.
  • Participate in the monthly Food & Safety team meetings
  • Follow and adhere to SVR Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Follow and adhere to SVR Food Safety Program Policies.
  • Follow and adhere to Cal/OSHA General and Contractor Safety Rules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position directly supervises the Bag Warehouse Team.

Travel:

Travel is occasionally expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of related experience and/or training; prefer Bachelor of Arts or Science.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write emails, reports and correspondence. Ability to verbally communicate clearly.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
