Sun Valley Resort is Hiring a Setup Assistant Manager Near Sun Valley, ID

The Setup Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the Banquet Setups department. This role will help oversee the setup of all contracted events on Sun Valley property. The goal is to provide 100% guest satisfaction with banquet events.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily banquets and catering setup operations per established policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and assist with setting up and breaking down all events following planning worksheets, timelines, and checklists.
  • Oversee all aspects of event setup as required, including but not limited to customer service, table settings & chairs, and linens, and ensure proper inventory and supplies as necessary to support catering and convention business.
  • Manage open lines of communication between management, departments and team members regarding any setup concerns on an event.
  • Complete checklists & shift reports at the close of every shift.
  • Lead team meetings before setting up and delegating tasks, and conduct bi-annual inventory on all setup equipment.
  • Maintain equipment storage areas as organized and in excellent condition.
  • Follow all safety & training procedures and guidelines to ensure safety for self and others.
  • Participate in weekly catering meetings to discuss prior & upcoming events.
  • Ensure sanitation procedures and organization of work area adhere to all health code regulations.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of previous hospitality experience in a similar or related field
  • At least two years of previous leadership/management experience in a similar or related field 
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Able to read all banquet event orders and build a diagram based on the information given by the banquet event order
  • Able to lead and supervise others in a positive and supportive manner and work together as a collaborative team, flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
  • Energetic, positive, can-do attitude, excellent work ethic.
  • Ability to complete tasks promptly and effectively with attention to detail, remain calm, problem-solve, and develop solutions under stress.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods, safely move objects up to approximately 75 pounds about the workplace, and work both indoors and outdoors with potentially changing weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
