Summary:

The Sun Sentinel is hiring a Maintenance Technician. This person works under limited supervision of Facility Maintenance Supervisor, providing work pertaining to the operations and maintenance of all mechanical, plumbing and electrical equipment and systems necessary to sustain and preserve the assets and environment in Deerfield and outside facilities as needed.

What you will do:

• Maintain all of the company’s air conditioning systems
• Inspect, maintain and replace facility equipment as needed and perform all necessary preventive maintenance as scheduled to provide reliable support to customers
• Operate, service and maintain building management system for Deerfield facility equipment as needed
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment for the department; adhere to policies, programs and procedures for the reduction and elimination of industrial accidents
• Repair and maintain all process piping and domestic plumbing, all mechanical refrigeration and process cooling equipment/systems and have comprehensive knowledge of trouble-shooting and problem-solving
• Repair and maintain integrity of building and infrastructure to achieve maximum reliability, safety and endurance
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

What you will bring:

• Must have high school or equivalent related experience with emphasis on plumbing/mechanical plant engineering and electrical
• Typically requires 5-years experience with electrical, facilities and/or plant engineering work skills
• Must possess a strong electrical, mechanical/plumbing aptitude, problem-solving and trouble-shooting proficiency, and capable of concise communicating skills
• Frequently works around vapor, noise and dust
• Have your own hand tools
