Sun City Texas is an active adult community located in Georgetown, Texas. The community offers extensive amenities to its 16,000 residents including three golf courses, four fitness centers, ten pools, tennis, nature trails, bocce and much more! In addition to amenities offered by the Community Association, residents can choose from more than 50 clubs and interest groups such as; hunting and fishing, photography, woodworking and gardening. We are currently seeking a Retail Golf Merchandiser.

FUNCTION:

Responsible for the coordination of all facility and regional level retail operations through compliance with our retail programs and standards. Maximize the sales and profitability of the golf shop operations as well as seek opportunities to create memories by anticipating needs, exceeding expectations and building relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a high level of communication with the Director of Golf and Head Professional concerning merchandise mix and sell-through.
• Training golf shop staff concerning retail policies, procedures, merchandise knowledge and customer service.
• Maintaining unique upscale visual merchandise standards.
• Presents a diverse and desirable array of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories in line with customer demands.
• Maintains appropriate mix and levels of regular stock and seasonal products,within budgetary guidelines, while maintaining cost of goods sold percentage.
• Develop a travel schedule to ensure all the properties in the region are being visited at least once a week.
• Compiling monthly sales reports by class for Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional.
• Maintains product documentation from purchase to sale; including purchase orders, receiving records, invoice validation/payment, inventory records and special-order records to document merchandise history.
• Establishes pricing structures for all inventory and special-order items in consideration of competitive prices and generally accepted profit margins. Keeps abreast of industry and competition pricing structures to set prices for maximizing sales potential.
• Analyzes sales and studies trends to determine additional needed sales promotions, markdowns and clearance sales.
• Maintains collaborative partnerships and negotiates effectively with vendors.
• Assist in the development and implementation of creative merchandise promotions.
• Works with other department heads on approved staff uniforms; including pricing, buying and distribution to employees.
• Assist the tournament sales in the promotion and selling of merchandise packages to events.
• Establishes and/or ensures employee purchase policies are adhered to including accurate accounting of employee purchases.
• Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf and golf merchandising concession operations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
• Planning and organizational ability
• Customer Service skills
• Computer skills – Jonas POS is a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• PGA Class A Member is a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Might be required to work some late evenings.
