Summit School Early Learning Center delivers early childhood education in a way that respects each child as an individual, fosters each child's strengths, and delivers positive learning experiences to enrich a child's life.
The preschool paraprofessional will work in a Preschool For All program, that is designed to help children that may be at risk of academic failure without an intervention program.Under the supervision of the Director and in cooperation with the Early Childhood (EC) Teachers, this person will assist the teacher in providing developmentally appropriate activities for children enrolled in the program. The paraprofessional will become knowledgeable in the monitoring system to ensure the classroom is providing a quality program as established by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Additional responsibilities include Observing and documenting anecdotal records of children's progress.Planning and implementing activities that promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of children. Conferring weekly with the team to plan and implement a lesson plan that provides for individuality in the population.
Attending and participating in all staff meetings, center events, and family activities.
Paraprofessional certification is a state requirement for this position.
Bilingual abilities a plus.
This position is part time - 7 hours per day during the school year. Although there are no benefits, there are some perks - 5 paid holidays, earned sick time, professional development, and a bonus for contract completion.
