BLOCK PLANT - EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
LYNCHBURG, VA
COMPENSATION - Market Value Pay Dependent Upon Experience
SUMMARY
We are seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Operator who will have the responsibility of providing mechanical repairs while operating different pieces of production machinery within the Block plant and operating mobile equipment production machinery as needed.
Additional duties of a general laborer and greaser are performed as well.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to operate and repair mechanical equipment
- Ability to respond quickly to safety hazards and equipment malfunctions
- Ability to use a cutting torch, weld and be mechanically inclined
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate stationary and mobile equipment
- Operate a forklift and loader
- Shoveling, cleaning, and chipping
- Greasing different areas of the plant
- Perform all other duties as requested from time to time by the Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in block manufacturing or related field, a plus
- Knowledge of block production processes, equipment, and materials, a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or move 100 pounds or more
- Ability to carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds frequently
- Stamina to stand and work for extended periods of time
- Flexibility to work in varying temperatures and conditions
