About the Job:

The Advanced Assembly Technician builds, assembles, and fabricates equipment that is vital to the successful implementation of Summit’s projects, and takes direction from the Assembly Manager. This position generally works in the Assembly shop, while spending approximately 25% time with onsite field work and travel. The Advanced Assembly Technician has intermediate to advanced proficiency in advanced install and assembly areas (terminations, wire dressing, rack building, wire pull, snake building), as well as fabrication, and works under minimal supervision and direction. They use their detail orientation to achieve quality and excellence and ensure smooth installation on the project site, and may guide the work of less experienced technicians.

Responsibilities:

• Completes Assembly basic Training & Summit Onboarding within 90 days of hire.

• Utilizing intermediate to advanced knowledge of advanced Assembly and Installation skills, and minimal supervision, assists with the assembly of audio, video & lighting equipment.

• Assembles, prepares, and installs shop-based tasks for each project: racks, terminations, soldering, labeling, snake building, cable making, road cases, audio gear, video gear, lighting gear, etc.

• Supports the Assembly Manager to plan our Assembly processes of building, assembling, testing and verifying each shop-based task (racks, snakes, cables, road cases, lighting gear, etc) for projects with the Assembly Team; utilizing our Kickoff Meetings and Basecamp checklists.

• Effectively navigates Vectorworks, Coreo, and Epilog and operates the CNC Machine and Laser Engraver to produce custom deliverables such as custom rack and flat plates, XLR barrels, tags, and assembling and testing LES stations, etc. 

• Onsite field work and travel - performs rack work, wire termination, wire pull, wire dressing, wire tray dressing, testing and verification, etc.

Skills and Abilities:

• Expert-level proficiency in basic Install and Assembly areas (Rack Building, Wire Pull, Terminations, Basic Rigging, Basic Field Install) 

• Intermediate to advanced understanding of advanced Install, advanced Fabrication and advanced Assembly areas (Rack Building, Wire Dressing, Wire Tray Dressing, FOH & Video Suites, Product Order Sheet Accountability, Fabrication Process, etc.) 

• Advanced-level Execution in all Assembly Areas (Rack Building, FOH & Video Suite, Wire Dressing, Wire Tray Dressing, Terminations, Snake & Wire Building, Fabrication, etc.)

• Understands SIS ID Technical Drawings at an advanced Level (Searching & Signal Flow) 

• Ability to test & troubleshoot systems at an Advanced Level (Continuity & Termination Testing)

• Intermediate-level proficiency and knowledge in the CNC Machine, Laser Engraver, 3D Printer and the Fabrication Process.

• Basic understanding of how to navigate and operate Vectorworks, Coreo, Epilog and 3D Printing Software.

• Maintains personal accountability through execution and by actively communicating about priorities with the Assembly Manager.

Required Certification/Licensure:

• Maintains up to date OSHA/DOT Safety Certifications

• Maintains valid Drivers License, clean driving record, and the ability to be insured under the company plan.

• Completes and maintains a Forklift Certification

Job Type: Full-time, Hourly

Starting at $21.57-$32.35 hourly

Schedule: Monday—Friday, generally core business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. Onsite field work and travel approximately 65 days per year, hours/days will fluctuate onsite to meet project demands.
