Summit Community Care Group is Hiring a Development Assistant Near Frisco, CO

Position Summary:

The Development Assistant is responsible for the coordination of fundraising activities associated with annual campaigns, events, and individual or business donor relations. This position reports directly to the Development Director and works closely with the Marketing / Community Outreach Specialist and other Development Department staff. Extensive training is provided to achieve certification in the Raiser’s Edge database. This position is ideal for someone interested in developing skills in sales, Customer Relations Management (CRM) management, and community engagement to increase donations.

Essential Functions:

  • Use Raiser’s Edge CRM platform to accurately track and produce reports on donors and other constituents, including special event attendees, and sponsors, gifts, and special events.
    • Enter and update constituents’ contact, biographical, and relationship information.
    • Process all donations and produce donor acknowledgment letters weekly or bi-weekly.
    • Arrange logistics and assist with producing materials for the annual fundraising campaign and other mailings as needed.
    • Complete matching gift forms and protocols.
    • Complete tribute gifts and protocols
  • Help plan and execute donor engagement activities including but not limited to home receptions and donor recognition events.
  • Annually review and update the Care Clinic’s Colorado Gives profile and other fundraising platforms uploading all necessary attachments.
  • Work in collaboration with Outreach staff to generate and distribute marketing and donor communication including, but not limited to, donor newsletters, brochures, and invitations.
  • Work closely with the Development Team to plan, organize, and implement special event fundraisers including, but not limited to, Soup for the Soul and Rally for the Cure.
  • Help create special event communications such as save-the-date, invitations, e-blasts, and other marketing materials with internal or external staff as needed.
  • Solicit and process in-kind contributions.
  • Assist with sponsorship recognition and benefits.
  • Assist with reporting results from fundraising activities.
  • Work as the lead for event/development volunteers and track volunteer hours.
  • Assist with staffing, organizing, and executing community outreach activities.
  • Assists with staff appreciation activities and events.


Additional Requirements:

  • Complete all required training as designated by HR and the position supervisor.
  • Adhere to all policies within the organization and those outlined within the SCCC Employee Handbook.
  • Comply with all SCCC Vaccine mandates.
  • Willingness to travel and work at other SCCC locations as determined by the supervisor.
  • Comply with all applicable Credentialing and Privileging requirements timely.
  • Embrace the SCCC Mission and Vision and agree to work within the SCCC Guiding Principles and the principles set by the position supervisor.

Education/Experience:


Must Haves to be successful:

  • Interest in and aptitude for CRM/database work. Experience with Raiser’s Edge software is a plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor when speaking to people in person, on the phone, and in electronic communications.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Nice to Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business or nonprofit management, communications, education, or related field.
  • Prior nonprofit experience.
  • Sales and customer service experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge operating system.
  • Excellent MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro knowledge with aptitude to learn new software systems.


Work Environment:

The work environment is hybrid, with time split between a home office and the administrative office. The work can be fast-paced and involves communication with healthcare professionals. This role is clerical. It requires an ability to work autonomously and stay on task. Offsite work is required, including community events and fundraisers. Work schedules are flexible to accommodate these activities.
