Summer Somewhere Wines is looking for new tasting room associates who are charismatic and care about providing a fun and informational wine tasting experience to our guests! Under the direction of the Tasting Room Manager, tasting room associates will work in our Malibu Village tasting room, just minutes from Pepperdine. Daily tasting room duties include good customer service, upselling, serving wine, taking customers through wine tastings, and signing up new wine club members.

Job Duties:

• Familiarize yourself with each of our wines and be able to sell them with knowledge and confidence to customers
• Take customers through various wine tasting options, by the glass sales, and bottle sales
• Sign up new wine club members and take care of existing wine club members when they visit the tasting room
• Maintain clean tables, bar, and all working spaces
• Be familiar with our POS and reservation system– be able to charge every sale, use the EMV Terminal, make new reservations, manage existing ones, and add guests to the waitlist
• Restock wine fridges and shelves, polishing glassware, making sure we always have chilled wine to serve

Qualifications:

• At least 21 years of age
• RBS Certification - will need to be obtained within 2 weeks of hire date
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to make customers feel welcome and comfortable at all times
• Well spoken and can speak to our wines, or willing to learn about our wines in order to best serve to guests
• Ability to keep track of a section of tables and each party’s progress through a wine tasting
• Must be able to work weekends – Saturdays and/or Sundays, possibly some holidays.
• Serving/wine experience not necessary, but is an added bonus
• Ability to learn and share story/background behind brand, willingness to learn/share knowledge/history of grapes, wines, techniques and story behind each wine.
• Comfort and ability to lift 40 pounds with regular frequency.
