Summary:
Assists with coordination and facilitation of the Summa Health Special Pulmonary programs (e.g. Post Covid19 Program). Assists the leadership in planning, implementing and coordinating activities directly related to the growth of the Pulmonary Service Line. The position will assists with monitoring of clinical performance metrics, staff education in the enterprise and implementation of evidence-based practice. The RN Coordinator assists with facilitating awareness and community services. Acts as a resource to staff in the development of the Pulmonary Program by providing orientation and on-going education across the Summa Health System. Assists the service line leadership with the collection and analyses of pulmonary services outcomes data. Explores research activities and provides input in the development of standardized procedures, protocols, and services.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor of Science in Nursing
b. Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the State of Ohio
2. Experience and Training Required:
a. Two (2) years of experience in nursing care
b. Experience should include care of adult patient population requiring management of multiple co-morbid illnesses
c. Critical Care experience, is a benefit
d. Completes 8 hours of relevant education each year
3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
b. Ability to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
c. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/registered nurses.
d. Ability to work effectively within a team environment by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback.
e. Demonstrates leadership skills
f. Excellent analytical and organizational skills
g. Strong verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to educate via various methodologies and forums (in-person, group, remote, web based, telephonic, etc.)
h. Ability to direct or coordinate the work of others
i. Knowledge of electronic medical records
j. Knowledge and use of various Microsoft software and database applications
k. Ability to analyze, use clinical research outcomes, and aggregate data effectively.
l. Ability to be open minded, objective and self-directed in executing responsibilities within a team structure. Proactive approach to problem-solving.
4. Level of Physical Demands:
a. Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
