Summa Health is Hiring a Program Coordinator II - Laboratory QA Near Akron, OH

Part-time / 20 hours per week

Summary of Position:
Plans, coordinates and implements the quality management and improvement programs for Summa System Laboratories and Out Reach Program (Lab Care Plus). Monitors and provides assistance with quality assurance and compliance functions. Provides direction to ensure programs and services are implemented at the highest standards with emphasis on quality Management/Assurance. Ensures policies and procedures are monitored and updated to include regulatory changes. Point of contact with all regulatory agencies including CAP, FDA, CMS (CLIA), TJC and AABB
Minimum Qualifications:
1.Formal Education Required:
a.Bachelor of Science degree listing one of the required areas of study (Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science) if degree does not list area of study transcripts must be submitted for equivalency evaluation.
i.Acceptable transcripts must include:
1 At least 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of biological science (with one semester in microbiology)
2.At least 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of chemistry (with one semester in organic or biochemistry)
b.One (1) year in approved program or equivalent with certification/registry with an accredited recognized agency or organization (e.g. ASCP, AMT, etc.). ASCP and NCA merged 10/23/09.
2.Experience & Training Required:
a.Three (3) years clinical laboratory or quality compliance experience as a Medical laboratory scientist which has provided strong knowledge of CAP standards
b.Experience in a CAP accredited Clinical laboratory
3.Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a.Experience utilizing Media Lab Software; strong knowledge of QC & CAP standards
b.Proficient writing policies and clinical laboratory procedures
c.Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
d.Excellent communication both oral and written; Meticulous attention to detail.
e.Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
f.Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
4.Level of Physical Demands:
a.Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
