Summary: Assists in administering therapeutic treatment to assigned patient population. Performs treatment within parameters established by and under guidance and direction of Physical Therapists in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio professional guidelines and Summa Health System/Rehabilitation Services requirements. Minimum Qualifications: Formal Education Required
Graduate from a Physical Therapy Assistant Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
Experience & Training Required
Current licensure issued by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Athletic Trainers Board
Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association
Active participation in professional healthcare organization preferred

Ability to be flexible/adaptable in meeting environmental constraints and demands placed on services as is common with changing regulatory, reimbursement and managed care targets.
Minimally provides 40 hours clinical care annually (PRN ONLY)
Level of Physical Demands
Very Heavy: Exerts in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
Ability to continuously stand and walk; frequently squat, climb stairs, bend to the floor, reach over the shoulder, kneels, twist, sit, stand and remain in uncomfortable positions for prolonged periods of time
Requires standing and walking for long periods of time
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination e. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal rangef. Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment as position requiresg. Requires exposure to communicable disease, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment
