Summary :
Masters responsibilities of primary team and receives cross-training to efficiently work on two or more teams (e.g., New Patient, Front Desk, Clinical/Surgical, Clinical/Non-surgical; Pre-Op). Serves as point person for PALI’s questions and assists with de-escalation of patient situations; mentors and assists with training of PALI’s as needed. Acts as initial contact for new Weight Management Institute (WMI) patients; Schedules appointments, procedures, and consults for established patients of the WMI. Collects payments and processes receipts; Prepares charts and patients for physician visits, and assists physicians with visits; Reviews charts and assists patients in completing all pre-op requirements; Assists in collection of data for clinical outcomes. Provides a high level of customer service to present a positive impression of Summa Health.
Minimum Qualifications :
Formal Education Required:
  • Associate degree in healthcare, accounting, business, public relations or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience and Training Required :
  • Two (2) years experience performing two or more of the following duties: scheduling, phone triage, patient check-in, patient registration, insurance verification, pre-certification, or medical assisting in a medical office, hospital, or healthcare setting.
  • Cross trained or ability to work efficiently in 2 or more areas (e.g., New Patient, Front Desk, Clinical/Surgical, Clinical/Non-surgical; Pre-Op).
  • Ability to pass typing test administered by Human Resources of 25 WPM
  • Ability to pass medical terminology exam administered by Human Resources

  • Knowledge of keyboard with high accuracy and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
