SEWS - KCSC— Global Production Planner. Although located at SEWS Lexington office this is a flexible Work From Home position, which means an associate has the flexibility to work from home, but is expected to report to the local office as needed or required.

The GPP will support PC Planning team to create Production Demand Plans and to ensure that the parts ordering to overseas plants is complete. They will identify supply issues/delays that will impact the customer and openly communicate those challenges to other departments. Some night meetings will occur on a project basis with overseas design, project management groups (Japanese language will likely be required during those meetings).

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Main Duties are to work in PC Planning team to make Production Demand Planning. This includes not only weekly/monthly customer Demand forecast, but also, New Model Production Start Up Plan and Build Out Inventory Control.
• This position also responsible to maintain and update/enter new design levels into our systems such as EDI as well as manage entry of GPP DCN’s.
• Some night meetings are required. This is as needed and is to communicate issues as they arise with overseas factories.

• Works with SEWS Delivery, Material Control departments & Warehouse Operation teams to manage Level-1 components to meet customer demands.
• Monitor vehicle buildout status (timing, obsolescence) with GPP Planners & Delivery group to avoid any Demand shortage and/or Finish Good Obsolescence.
• Coordinate with internal departments (Project Management, Delivery, QA, Warehouse Operations) to communicate new/past model parts, design level changes, update the internal tracking documentation.
• Work with other Planners and Managers to help create/facilitate any group kaizen items that will benefit the team and SEWS.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years experience in procurement or related experience preferred
• Work experience in the Automobile manufacturing field, Japanese company (in Japan or the US) preferred.
• Microsoft Office Suite (to include Excel, Access) skills required
• Math application skills required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required
• Proactively engage and follow up with other departments to ensure that conditions are met.
• Speaking other language such as Japanese, Spanish, Vietnamese are great asset. (oral/written)
