Job description
Position Summary:
Designs and drafts mechanical parts and assemblies based on specific project requirements. Provides support for review of drawings, submittal packages, and Operating & Maintenance Manuals (O&M).
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develops drawings for support frames, machined parts and associated assemblies on CAD system
· Evaluates and recommends structural analysis, civil fit review, General Arrangement drawing review, design interface, drawing and suitability of service reviews.
· Performs sizing evaluations to make equipment selections and specifies equipment configurations to accommodate individual site requirements.
· Check and maintain new and revised drawings.
· Investigate feasibility of design changes.
· Prepares Change Orders.
· Reviews product specifications to develop mechanical layouts.
· Interacts with Project Manager and consulting engineers to ensure proper design and application of equipment.
· Coordinates drawings and cut sheets with Documents Administrator and Technical Writer for submittals and O&M Manuals.
· Provides drawings for sales packages, quotations, and submittals.
· Supports the quote preparation process by sizing and selecting standard products based on information provided by sales reps, consulting engineers, and end users.
· Prepares and reviews site installation drawings, project specific manufacturing drawings, and submittal packages.
· Checks and approves various drawings, ECO forms and corrective action reports to maintain the flow of documents and information.
· Creates and reviews bills of material.
· Assists manufacturing with questions regarding design, order specifications, and material.
· Provides technical engineering support for the team.
· Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education, Experience, & Skills:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
5 experience in engineering design.
Experience with 2D & 3D drafting software (Inventor preferred).
Knowledge of ASME Y 14.5M 1994 standards.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
LEAN training and continuous improvement.
Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Excel, Outlook, web, databases).
Highly self-motivated.
Flexible, reliable, strong work ethic, dependable team player, positive, constructive attitude.
Good business etiquette skills.
Knowledge of products and technologies including current and potential applications.
Attention to detail.
Preferred:
Understanding of wastewater treatment processes.
Experience with Autodesk Inventor, ERP systems
