Accountant/Controller

Mid-size construction firm specializing in building and renovating homes in the Washington metropolitan area seeks an accountant/controller who can maintain all aspects of the company’s general ledger, prepare financial statements monthly, supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable, and report to the company president. Construction and job cost experience needed.

We are looking for an amazing new accountant/controller as we continue to build for the future. Salary commensurate with education/ work experience. Salary range $100,000-$130,000, plus benefits. Long-term employment opportunity. Knowledge and skills should include planning and organizing, problem analysis, communication skills, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

In addition to what is listed above, other duties and responsibilities include:

1. Employee personnel and benefits management.

2. All aspects of payroll through payroll service

3. Financial management using Sage software job cost reconciliation of all accounts

4. Year-end activities, including preparing year-end financial statements for CPA firm and coordinating with outside tax accountants for tax returns

5. Maintain all business insurance and documentation

6. The candidate should have a working knowledge of Sage software for contractors, including job costing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38.21 - $46.01 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
