Summary/Objective
The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible to assist the Transportation Supervisor with dispatching, routing, and overall operations of the Transportation department.
Essential Functions

- Assist with dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles.
- Assist with the planning, organizing and management of the work for the transportation team, ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
- Assist operations including setting route sequences for delivery, documentation, storage, safety and distribution of equipment and supplies and maintenance of inventory.
- Conduct and monitor inventory load condition.
- Minimize the amount of damaged goods.
- Communicate issues or special directions from warehouse to transportation staff.
- Follow all Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).
- Monitor and control Time and Temperature for storing, picking or transporting goods.
- Assist with maintaining and monitoring the transportation management software (Samsara).
Miscellaneous
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and procedures that relate to sanitation, food safety and pest control.
- Organize workflow to meet deadlines.
- Clean and respond to any spills immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position, and schedule hours of work and days will be based to support our Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. operational hours.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility in a safe and satisfactory manner. Work under minimal supervision, apply logic and reasoning to solve complex problems, use sound judgement and discretion in performing work duties. Requires excellent written and oral communications skills. Ability to listen, persuade, and influence skills in dealing with all levels of employees, clients and vendors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, climb and twist; requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
