About the Position The Technical Designer is responsible to provide guidance to both Fashion Design and the vendor base regarding fit, sizing, grading, garment specifications and construction, adhering to Lilly Pulitzer® quality standards. This will in turn lead to profitable growth for the company over the multi-year horizon. The Technical Designer is responsible for completing technical packages from concept to production. The Technical Designer will lead fit sessions and fit garments independently. They will also provide fit recommendations and solutions to issues. Performance in this position is measured by achieving total company net sales targets, lowering the return rate in the e-commerce full price business, along with contributing to the department and individual goals. The Technical Designer must demonstrate understanding of issues and be able to execute as a part of a high performing, results oriented team. A day in the life… Conducting and overseeing fittings, Garment construction, pattern making, size grade rules Translating the intent of Fashion Design into technical design specification packages (tech packs). Articulating technical specifications to vendors. Partnering with vendors to resolve issues. Identify and analyze construction and quality issues and informs Manager in cases where standards are not met or where deviations are suggested. The ability to make detailed fit comments and corrections to communicate required modifications to vendors The ability to address and train a broader group, finding creative solutions & collaborating both internally and externally. Leads fit sessions and fits garments as well as provides fit recommendations and solutions to issues. Evaluate samples to ensure they meet construction, grading/tolerances, and safety standards. The ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, adjust to changing priorities and process improvements. Communicates clearly and concisely Accountable for adhering to all processes, procedures, and standards. Meet all assigned dates in the Lilly Pulitzer® Product Development Calendar Qualifications for the Position A four-year college degree is required. This must be in fashion design, or a closely related subject. At least nine years of prior experience in technical design is required. This experience is preferably with a women’s fashion branded apparel company. Must have proficiency and comfort in the use of technology to support Technical Design. This includes: The Centric® PLM System. Training will be provided. The Pattern Design System Module of Accumark®. Training will be provided. The Adobe Suite of software including Illustrator and Acrobat. Basic computer skills, such as Outlook®, Word®, and Excel® in a Microsoft Windows® Our Core Values: The Lilly Way. A Little More to Know… This position is classified as full-time salaried; it is exempt and is not eligible for overtime. This position is eligible for standard company benefits. This position is required to maintain a structured hybrid work schedule based out of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. This hybrid schedule, which includes work done in the King of Prussia Office as well as your Home Office will be determined by your supervisor. The position may require some domestic and international travel. Given the seasonality of the business, this position may require flexible, additional working hours during peak periods. This position is expected to collaborate effectively with other individuals in alignment with our Core Values and Core Leadership Qualities.
