Suffolk Transportation Service is Hiring a Facility Manager Near Bay Shore, NY

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

Overall Responsibilities but not limited to:Oversees company’s grounds, buildings, and equipment to ensure that a workplace is safe and functional. Duties include negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and coordinating renovations and updates. Must provide directions pertaining to the repair and maintenance of facilities and ability to be hands on when needed. 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage a Facilities Team and perform hands-on tasks in the repair and maintenance department. Prioritize and delegate cleaning, repairs, and maintenance to staff.
  • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor spaces.
  • Ensure proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors.
  • Communicate with Contractors, Town, County, and State Officials when necessary.
  • Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
  • Knowledge of, but not limited to: Carpentry, Electric, Plumbing, HVAC, Painting, Wallpaper, CCTV, etc.
  • Fuel pump repairs a plus.
  • Prepare facilities for changing weather conditions. Snow Removal when necessary.
  • Recommends and performs preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to learn the Service Channel Work Order System.
  • Maintain tools, materials, and spare parts. Maintain day to day operations of facilities and completing maintenance order tickets.
  • Review work orders to ensure that assignments are completed.
  • Collaborating with maintenance director on budgeting for facility’s needs. Purchasing and Invoice payment skills required.
  • Mentoring Staff.
  • Special projects as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Minimum 10 Years in Facility repairs and maintenance.
  • Proven experience in Safety and Security.
  • OSHA Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Building and Life Safety Codes.
  • Computer Skills: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Leadership and organizational skills.
  • Great time management, organization, and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Understands, encourages, and carries out the principles of safety management
