Suburban Welding and Steel is a growing job shop/steel service center based in Franklin Park, IL. We are a third generation, family owned company that continues to grow through our focus on customer service and top-notch quality. We are looking to hire someone who can handle all aspects of shipping and receiving, safely make deliveries and pick-ups using our company vehicles and perform general labor duties.

Responsibilities and Duties

Organization and general cleanliness of the shipping and receiving building

Setting up efficient delivery routes and working with our delivery drivers

Making pick-ups and deliveries as needed

Handling all incoming and outgoing jobs and knowing where they are both physically and the status of the jobs

Safely load and unload customers by hand as well as by forklift

Basic inventory and ordering of stock material (excel spreadsheet)

General labor duties (emptying trash, sweeping floors, emptying scrap bins etc.)

Qualifications and Skills

Ability to read, write and communicate in English is a must

Valid Driver's license. A class "C" license is preferred but not required.

Cleanliness and organization of work area(s) is a must

Ability to safely operate a forklift is required but can be taught during training

Ability to multi-task and adjust to changes throughout the day

Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Internet Explorer

Ability to work safely by one’s self as well as in a team environment

This is a first position job, Monday thru Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with overtime as required.
