Our award-winning portfolio within the Buildings (& Facilities) Division includes engineering and architectural assignments within the Federal, Educational, Institutional, Justice and Environmental market sectors.
We currently have an opening in our Owings Mills, MD practice for an Architectural Designer with our Buildings & Facilities division.
The candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for problem solving, an understanding that project success comes through teamwork, and a firm focus on client needs.
This role emphasizes design, production, and delivery, with the ability to develop both professionally and personally. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a solid technical foundation allowing them to work independently. Key responsibilities will include working with, and coordinating, an architectural/engineering team in preparing documents for projects. The ideal candidate will interface with clients and partner firms, leading teams of other design professionals to deliver design products requiring interface and collaboration with various disciplines, clients, and consultants. You will coordinates with other disciplines and manages the delivery of design documents, as well as plan, schedule, coordinate, manage and oversee the work of lower-level architects who assist with particular projects.
Other responsibilities include: Prepares Architectural drawings and supervises their execution; mentors’ younger staff; performs analysis of design and construction systems; completes planning studies; oversees preparation of design layouts and construction details. Oversees research used in writing specifications, including coordinating with manufacturers. Conducts site and construction inspections for information-gathering purposes, preparing interpretive reports. Executes code analysis, material selections, and technical solutions. Analyzes design and construction systems, design layouts and construction features, which require researching, compiling and recording information for assigned project work.
