Studio TK is Hiring a BOM Manufacturing Specialist Near Clayton, NC

What we are looking for
Studio TK is looking for a Data Specialist / BOM (Bill of Material) Specialist to join our systems engineering team. Reporting directly to the ERP Engineering Manager, this position will be an integral part of new product launches and ERP data control for the Clayton facility location.

General Responsibilities
The Data Specialist is responsible for maintaining product information in the ERP System (BAAN). This includes but is not limited to the creation and maintenance of part
numbers, BOMs, and Routings. Additional responsibilities include accessing and quoting custom products requests via clients.

This role will work directly with product development, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, and other cross-function departments to interpret and structure engineering BOMs/routings into the ERP system. This role will create and institute comprehensive and accurate data for standard and custom product requests.

The right individual will be a self-motivated problem solver with impeccable attention to detail.

They also must be able to deliver results against established project timelines with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports new product launches by developing product configuration and data structure within the ERP system.
  • Creates all standard and custom product BOM structure, system constraints, and routings to aid workflow among all departments.
  • Reviews and interprets complex product configurations.
  • Reviews and interprets engineering drawings to understand product construction and assembly as it relates to procurement and factory flow.
  • Tests all product configurations and combinations to confirm accuracy.
  • Implements Engineering Change Notice (ECN) by updating the BOM, product specifications, and cost updates in the ERP system as specified on the ECN.
  • Performs BOM audits, root cause analysis, and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Responsible for satisfying customer requests by creating BOMs for special products and service orders in a timely manner.
  • Quoting custom or special product orders; interpreting material and labor costs.
  • Works with finance to maintain standard cost tools based on BOM and Routing updates

Skills and Expertise Required:

  • 2-4 years of experience in relevant field (manufacturing, engineering, etc)
  • Minimum of 2 years of ERP experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (intermediate level or higher in Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Strong time management skills: ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to work well both independently and with team members.

Preferred but not Required:

  • Engineering degree in a relevant field (Industrial Engineering preferred)
  • Commercial or residential furniture manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of Google Suites and/or Lucid Charts
  • BAAN IV or Infor LN ERP system knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of product costing (material and labor)
  • Experience writing SQL queries (Cyberquery reports)
