Student is Hiring a STUDENT-Eco Rep Program Manager, 2024-2025 Near Ithaca, NY

The Eco Rep Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the fulfillment of larger organizational environmental goals. They coordinate activities – including events, workshops, and installment ideas – between multiple projects, without necessarily directly leading them. The Program Manager oversees the education and engagement of the Eco Rep student team with the local community through sustainability-themed events and workshops, educational discussions and flyers, and other formats.

Eco Reps consist of both paid board members (Assistant Manager, Treasurer, Social Media Manager and Project Coordinators) as well as volunteers. Eco Reps are sustainability educators from diverse backgrounds, majors, and years of study. Applications are required though; no experience is necessary. The Office of Energy Management & Sustainability intentionally does not hire exclusively within the Environmental Studies & Sciences department and has no expectations of previous knowledge of sustainability, climate change, or social justice. The only position requirements are a passion for sustainability, a desire to learn, and an outgoing, friendly attitude. Preference will be given to students able to work the entire academic year. All Eco Reps report directly to the Eco Rep Program Manager and the Office of Energy Management and Sustainability.

The Program Manager’s responsibilities are diverse and often vary week-to-week, depending on scheduled events. Generally, they are responsible for working with the Director of Energy Management and Sustainability to build and manage the Eco Rep team. The Program Manager further oversees the creation and executing ongoing Eco Rep programs, leading workshops and presentations, designing and organizing events, collaborating with other student organizations and classes, and contributing to the campus sustainability planning and dialogue. The Eco Reps Program Manager is expected to work ~10 hours/week. Upon hire, the Program Manager is required to provide their academic schedules for scheduling purposes and establish regular meetings with the Director of Energy Management and Sustainability to help coordinate campus sustainability efforts.

Pay Rate: $15.15
