ProgramDescription:
ProjectLocation:Fairfield,CA
The East Bay Climate Resilience Corps will work to implement projects and engage the community, assessing their needs and their knowledge of climate resiliency.
Projects could include working with the Solano Land Trust (trail maintenance and invasive removal), Solano County Resource Conservation District (nursery work, habitat restoration), Fairfield Suisun Sewer District (water conservation project), and Brannan Island State Recreation Area (park improvements).
The team will have Friday recreation and education opportunities, and the second to last week of work will be a camping trip, during which they will have the opportunity to learn from local rangers and continue work projects. All gear and food will be provided on the camping trip; members will learn how to set up tents, cook, and live outdoors safely, under guidance from crew leaders.

Participants should wear all leather boots to work each day. SCA has a limited number of boots for loan members who don't have their own (members can message staff to request boots.)
The working environment might be cool in the morning and possibly hot during the day; crew members should dress in layers to be prepared. SCA will provide gloves, helmets, eye protection, and training in the safe use of hand tools.
Acceptance of this position means the members understand it is a full-time commitment during the dates of the program and will communicate to their crew leaders if there is any potential conflict.
