Responsibilities

• Handling, packaging and disposal of trash, recyclable material, and hazardous wastes or chemicals including operation of trash compactors.
• Inspection and cleaning of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Operate floor scrubber.
• Cleaning break rooms, locker rooms, and rest rooms as needed.
• Audit of waste collection containers for proper container condition, storage, marking, labeling, and transport to disposal areas.
• Comply with current Quality Systems requirements.
• Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and perform team responsibilities.
• Hazardous waste training shall be provided to the employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position, and a review of this training provided every 12 months thereafter.

The employee will complete a program of classroom instruction. The employee shall be supervised until training is completed.

The training shall consist of a review of proper management of hazardous waste, satellite accumulation containers, how to review and prepare a hazardous waste manifest, and proper labeling requirements.

Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skills Required :

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience in using a personal computer for basic word processing and spreadsheets.

Physical Requirements :

• Physically fit for continuous standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting
• Physically capable of wearing personal protective equipment including gloves, respirator, safety glasses
• and steel toed shoes in accordance with established policy.
• Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid)
• Occasional lifting from grams up to 50 pounds

Equipment Used :

• Janitorial equipment, respirator fit testing equipment, and personal protective equipment as required.
