Construction Materials Lab Technician

Our Livermore office is looking for a Construction Materials Laboratory Technician in the Greater Bay Area to join our Team!
This position will handle all activities related to our construction materials testing and soils laboratory operations. The successful candidate will bring strong knowledge of construction laboratory operations.
Responsibilities:
·Responsible for scheduling and organization of items to be tested
·Responsible to perform routine to complex lab testing- including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and rock materials
·Responsible for performing the testing, all associated paperwork and calculations in accordance with our Quality Control Manual and applicable ASTM/AASHTO standards
·Maintain laboratory equipment is properly calibrated in accordance with internal procedures
·Assists in leading, mentoring, and training lab staff
·Assists with the maintenance of the firm’s lab accreditations
Requirements:
2 years of experience with laboratory testing of construction materials.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Able to use a company provided laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Organization and multi-tasking ability.
A good work ethic, attention to detail, and high level of personal integrity.
Authorization to work in the United States.
In addition to the above, hiring preference will be given to those with the following certifications:
Caltrans; American Concrete Institute (ACI) certifications: Aggregate Testing Technician - Level 1 or 2, Aggregate/Soils Base Testing Technician, Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician Level 1, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1, National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET):
Construction Materials Testing: Asphalt, Concrete, Soils (Levels I, II, or III), Nuclear density gauge safety, handling, operation, and transporting training/certification
