High School STEM Major Teacher- Full Time

Philadelphia Performing Arts: A String Theory Charter School is seeking a full-time teacher to join the high school STEM Majors department at the Vine Street Campus (1600 Vine Street). This campus provides a unique educational environment wherein all students can focus on the arts and sciences as major subjects while fulfilling the mandates of a standard academic curriculum.

This STEM Majors program focuses on project-based instruction and learning through experimentation. A successful candidate must employ a hands-on approach to teaching and possess a nuanced ability to connect subjects to life experiences and real world situations, along with creating cross-curricular educational opportunities for students. Special preference will be given to candidates with instructional and operational experience in 3D computer-aided design and fabrication using 3D printers, laser cutters and CNC machines.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree

● PA secondary certification in related subject is preferred but not required

● Criminal history, child abuse and FBI clearances (Acts 34, 151 and FBI)
