Strides Therapeutic Services is Hiring a Behavior Specialist (Entry Level) Near Vancouver, WA

We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Entry-Level Behavior Consultant to join our dynamic team. As a behavior consultant, you will play a vital role in implementing individualized therapy plans under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). This position requires working closely with individuals with developmental disabilities, following behavior intervention plans, and collecting data to monitor progress. This is a great entry level position for the psychology, education and social work fields.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct one-on-one services to clients.
  • Implement behavior intervention strategies to address skill acquisition, behavior reduction, and social skills development.
  • Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors during therapy sessions.
  • Support clients in developing functional communication, social interaction, daily living skills, and behavior management techniques.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients and actively participate in promoting a positive therapeutic atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the therapy team regarding progress, concerns, and updates.
  • Continuously expand knowledge and skills in therapeutic principles and techniques through ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field (such as psychology, special education, counseling, or a related discipline).

*Those without a degree but relevant work experience in a similar role will also be considered for similar roles.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with MS Office suite.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel between therapy locations.
  • This role requires individuals to stand, lift up to 20 pounds and sit unsupported for short periods of time.
