Who we are

Stride is a woman-founded organization that was established in 2014 by Debbie Madden. We are a values and mission driven organization with a vision to help build a brighter future for our planet and generations to come. Stride has been trusted to build software relevant to today's world, such as: adding clean energy to the electric grid, helping Pre-K teachers in underserved communities, and working to transform high school education for a brighter future.

Accelerate your career at Stride

Lead Designers have the ability to grow their skills at Stride while leading and coaching teams. You’ll have the opportunity to design for a wide-range of client domains and products across a variety of values-aligned engagements.

Designers at Stride are a valued part of the team from Discovery Kickoff to Product Launch, collaborating with both product managers and developers throughout the project lifecycle. Did we mention that we love agile values and user centric design thinking ?!

What you’ll work on day-to-day

  • Transform requirements and design research into customer journey, process map, and high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes, shipping high-quality work in a timely fashion.

  • Interview customers in close collaboration with product managers to understand feature needs and use cases and reconcile between different users' requirements.

  • Lead stakeholder reviews to collect and incorporate feedback from clients.

  • Collaborate with Stride teams and actively participate in Agile and Lean practices to improve transparency, communication, collaboration, effectiveness, and happiness as measured by the team health check.

  • Can pick up and expand on an existing product. Acknowledging what came before, evaluating current-state and expanding into new use-cases, new applications, etc.

Here’s what we're looking for

  • Experience driving and applying user-centered design processes

  • Current/prior experience in working within the full software development lifecycle

  • Proficient in conducting and applying user research, customer interviews, and lean experiments

  • Use your skills of observation and analysis to understand context, uncover root causes, and identify business constraints to iterate on solutions

  • Collaborate with others to collectively problem solve and deliver solutions, putting team success ahead of your own success

  • Help stakeholders and teammates understand design thinking and rationale through powerful storytelling, communication and designs.

  • Are proficient with industry design tools and systems including Figma, Sketch, etc.

James Yoo - Lead Developer at Stride Consulting

“As a developer, working side-by-side with Stride designers is refreshing for multiple reasons: their high empathy for end users, their ability to quickly ingest business/product needs and flexibly iterate on solutions, their collaboration in finding areas to reduce MVP scope and the corresponding lack of dogmatism. I’ve been on client teams where interacting with the designer can feel like trying to satisfy an external stakeholder, rather than collaborating with a team member, whereas when working with Stride’s designers, it genuinely feels we are working towards the same goals”

Stride Consulting is committed to equal treatment and opportunity in all aspects of recruitment, selection, and employment without regard to gender, race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, veteran or military status, or any other category protected under the law. Stride Consulting is an equal opportunity employer; committed to a community of inclusion, and an environment free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
